The months before moving here I was depressed about coming to this place. I would miss my close friends and all of the fun stuff and shopping that San Antonio had to offer. Not to mention we had to move the week of Christmas which just made it worse. Trying to figure out how to pack a car for four people and a dog along with Christmas presents for everyone was almost impossible. The week of moving I was so busy finishing up loose ends and then trying to spend as much time as I could with Rachel. The move went pretty smooth and on our last day we stayed at the Westin on the Riverwalk. The hotel was so beautiful and the boys were very excited to stay in a hotel. The Riverwalk at Christmas time was breathtaking! It was a great way to spend our last days in the city that we liked so much. After leaving we ended up spending Christmas morning in Dallas with Bob and Danette that way we wouldn't be stuck in a hotel for Christmas. It was so nice to see them and be able to relax for a few days before we finished out our trip. When we got here I saw that it was just as small as I thought it would be. Then we moved into our house and immediately my spirits lightened. I just love my little house. For one it's new and also has warm colors on the walls. No more of that horrid rental white! So tired of living in a stark home. We settled in quick because Cameron had a lot of time off before he started school and when he did start he gets off most days around 3:00. That in itself is a huge blessing. Something I am not used to being a military wife and all. Since there really isn't any place to go we have been saving money and hanging out with our new friends. The kids also loved the snow day we had here. Their cheeks were rosy red and I still had to make them come inside. They loved having a snow ball fight with each other! I can't believe I am saying this and don't tell my husband but I really like it here! I know I will be ready for a change when the time is up but for now I am happy to call this place home.
